Ruby's Diary Entry 32 and 33

February 10th 1935

I honestly hate my family. Even away from them they still make my life a misery.

Chiron gets the mortal newspaper delivered here so that some of us can see what’s happening in the world. Of course, I had to have someone read it to me, but they didn’t seem to mind.

Anyway, in it was a news about the step-jerk. Turned out his cafe was having a grand re-opening. HIS CAFE?! It was my mothers. She owned it, and got it from her father, and so on.

It’s like she’s letting him take everything she holds dear, and throwing away what he doesn’t want.

Look at me... Ranting on paper... I really do have nothing better to do...

February 28th 1935

Dio had me helping him again. He hadn’t asked me since the last time, when I tried to drink some of the wine, but he said I was the best to help him, so he let me come as long as I didn’t try to drink again.

So anyway, I’m down there putting the bottles in order and all that when Dio comes over and hands me a cup. I thought it was grape juice, so I drank it.

I almost spat it back out.

It was his wine. Said to stop my curiousity. I couldn’t see how people could drink it. But even without me liking the taste, I found I wanted to drink more.

It was very strange.

I don’t think I’ll try drinking anymore any time soon.
